The Force is an energy field that connects all living things in the galaxy. To destroy the Earth, it would take the equivalent of about 2.5% of the annual amount of the energy produced by the sun, which is huge when you consider that in just one second, the sun produces 1 billion times the energy humans produce or consume in a year.
